Ph.D. students from HKUST (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) invented the NCCO technology to purify the air they were taking in daily. However, seeing an opportunity for commercialization, the original b-MOLA team introduced it to a greater Hong Kong market.

It was first implemented in hospitals and medical labs to kill bacteria, viruses, and clean formalin odours in rooms and bathrooms. The effective result and saving cost made the hospital's client very satisfied. After a few years testing, more than 100 hospitals, metro station, and banks used the NCCO tech to purify the air.

Today our air purifiers are used extensively in hospitals world-wide, from Austria to Australia.

After much positive feedback and successful experience in public industry, b-MOLA was created. NCCO technology was then implemented in landfills and now into consumer homes currently.

The origin of b-MOLA

MOLA-MOLA is also known as ocean sunfish. This large fish lives under deep waters and has a gentle temperament. It is said that it can secrete substances to improve the surrounding environment and also treat injuries of surrounding fish. It is therefore known as "Doctor of the Ocean".

MOLA-MOLA coincides with our company's philosophy. NCCO technology can improve the surrounding air quality and protect people from air pollution. The brand name "b-MOLA" stands for "Be MOLA (that improves the living environment)", providing people with fresh air.

What is NCCO?

In comparison to other air purification technologies such as activated charcoal, UV light and electrostatic precipitators, NCCO is more efficient in removing pollutants. For example, activated charcoal can only adsorb but does not decompose pollutants, and can only last for a limited period of  time (usually three months) without replacement. Once the carbon filter is saturated, the pollutants adsorbed will be released to the air causing “secondary pollution”, which can cause great harm to our health.

On the other hand, NCCO can absorb and decompose pollutants continuously and the technology can last for up to 12 years without replacement if our maintenance protocols are followed. NCCO has solved so many different issues and challenges regarding air pollution in different sectors including commercial, industrial, retail and automobile etc.

In addition, NCCO can resolve problems with air quality including pollution caused by PM2.5, PM10, VOCs and Formaldehyde. NCCO acts as an excellent deodorant by removing the root sources of such pollutants. NCCO is really playing an important role in air purification technology development.
